The new Bachelor in International Business Management will begin in September 2013 at the Geneva School of Business Administration (Haute Ecole de Gestion de Genève, HESSO). Taught entirely in English, this undergraduate program covers the international aspects of business administration. More precisely, it focuses on the application of management when working in an international context and when dealing with multicultural groups or organizations. The city of Geneva, because of its international economic activities, offers a perfect environment for such a program.
This Bachelor is unique in Western Switzerland. Future graduates may find an employment in multinational companies, non-profits organizations, or SMEs having activities oriented towards international markets. This program answers a demand expressed by several multinational or international organizations, in order for graduate students to be able to work in a cosmopolitan environment in the Geneva region or elsewhere. The curriculum covers the fundamental business management subject areas (economics, marketing, law, accounting, etc), combined with an international dimension. In addition to these courses, the program has strong components in leadership skills (including negotiation or multicultural projects management), and commodity trading. A focus on emerging markets is already planned and other topics will be introduced in the next few years with more major/minor courses.
The Bachelor of Science in International Business Management is a title protected and recognized by the Swiss Confederation, and compatible with the Bologna credit system. The Geneva school of Business Administration (www.hesge.ch/heg) is a public school that belongs to the HES-SO system. This school offers academic training programs that meet the expectations of the professional world.
